Priest in Charge: Fr. Nigel Gibson Fr. Nigel Gibson was installed and licensed as a Chaplain of St John's Cathedral and Priest-in-Charge of Emmanuel Church by The Most Revd. Dr. Paul Kwong, Primate and Archbishop of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, Bishop of Hong Kong Island on 20 June 2010 at the 10.15am service at Emmanuel Church - Pokfulam.
From July 2004, Fr. Nigel was Chaplain of All Saints' Church, Milan and three other Anglican communities in the north of Italy – Cadenabbia (Lake Como), Genova and Varese. He also taught RE at the European School, Varese and was Chaplain to the UK contingent of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps, north of Milan.
After 15-years as a professional broadcast journalist in Australian Radio, Fr. Nigel studied theology at St. Barnabas' College and the Adelaide College of Divinity in South Australia. He was ordained in St. Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide and served his title at Christ Church, North Adelaide.
Following an appointment as Lecturer at the famous St Botolph's Parish Church in Boston (The Stump) in the Diocese of Lincoln in the UK, Fr Nigel served as Rector of St. Mary's and St. Martin's, Stamford, Lincolnshire for nearly 8-years.
Prior to working in Milan, Fr. Nigel was Vicar of the Church of the Transfiguration, Kempston, Bedford, in the Diocese of St Albans in the UK for 4-years.
Fr. Nigel is an accomplished classical pianist and has a passion for opera and classical music. He is also an avid supporter of Liverpool and Parma football teams. His other interests include photography and cycling.
