If you wish to contact David Pickering, our interim priest in charge, please phone him on any of the phone numbers below.

David is available at any time in an emergency.  He is available in Pokfulam or at the Cathedral Office anytime on Mondays and Fridays.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays he is available in the afternoons.

If you cannot reach David directly, there is always a St. John's Cathedral priest-on-call via the office number: 2523 4157.

Interim Priest in Charge: Revd. Canon David Pickering
Revd. Canon David Pickering will be priest in charge of Emmanuel Church - Pokfulam during the interregnum starting from mid January 2009 until a new permanent Priest in Charge is appointed.

David is a very experienced, retired, Anglican priest from England and is living in Hong Kong as his wife, Christine, is teaching here.

David has been helping at St. John's for the last couple of months.  In his own words, he is looking forward to "helping you look after yourselves" during the interregnum.

Immediate Past Priest in Charge: Revd. Matthew Vernon
Valete to the Vernons.  Matt has been Priest in Charge at Emmauel Church - Pokfukam for the past 8 years.  In February 2009 he took up a new post as Residentiary Canon Pastor of St. Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St. Edmunds as announced in The Church Times - Issue 7605 - 26 December 2008.  Matt's collation and installation as Canon Pastor took place at Evensong in the St. Edmundsbury  Cathedral on Sunday 8th February 2009 at 3.30pm (11.30pm Hong Kong time).

The role of Canon Pastor is to have pastoral care of the St. Edmundsbury Cathedral congregation and community.
