The Ideal Gift – St. John’s Cathedral Bookstore Gift Vouchers

You want to say thankyou to someone?  Give them a small gift they will enjoy choosing.  Why not give them a voucher to spend at St John’s Cathedral bookstore?  Available in denominations of HKD50.00 or HKD100.00.  You can buy books, cards, gifts or Fair-Trade tea, coffee, biscuits and snacks.  Visit the bookstore and give someone a gift.

Bookstore Volunteers needed!

St John’s Cathedral Bookstore has been described as ‘one of Hong Kong’s hidden treasures’. The Bookstore relies on part-time and voluntary helpers, and we urgently need help on Wednesdays all day, and Monday and Friday mornings. It’s a job for someone who enjoys meeting people and selling things! If you are regularly available on any of these days and would like to help out, please contact Chris Everett, Bookstore Manager, on 2868 2848. Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested.

Taking Part and Helping on Sundays at Emmanuel

Each week it takes a number of people to make our worship services run smoothly.  If you feel you can contribute by greeting, reading, offering intercessions, helping with Sunday School or bringing refreshments, please sign up on the rota at the back of the church.

If you feel you can help out with setting up and clearing up after the service and coffee please do sign up on the rota at the back of the church or contact one of the Church wardens or use the the contact form.

If you want to know more about any of the tasks please contact the coordinators.  No previous experience is required!

Taizè Services at St John’s.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who can play a flute, clarinet or an acoustic guitar to accompany the singing at the monthly Taizè Services in the Cathedral. Taizè music is not technically demanding, so you do not need to be a James Galway, Jack Brymer or Julian Bream!  Also, if you would like to be part of a small vocal group to lead the singing during Taizè Services then do drop Fr. Nigel a message via the Contact Us page or call him on 2523 4157.

Hong Kong Weather Notice

In the event of a black rainstorm or T8 or above at 9am or later on a Sunday, the service that day will be cancelled – even if the signal is lowered before 10.15am.
