During our Sunday Eucharist we say a prayer called a Collect. This prayer brings together some of themes of the readings and Service.

Collect for 26th October 2008
Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet
and a light to our path.
Help us to read your Word prayerfully
and so deepen our love for you and each other;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Readings for 26th October 2008

Nehemiah 8.1-4a, 8-12 (Hebrew Testament p.449) The book of the law of Moses is read to the people.
Matthew 22.34-end (New Testament p.23) Jesus says which commandment is the greatest.
